How does fifth block differ from summer school?
It complements the interventions and summer programs we already have in place. Unlike many other summer programs, fifth block is by invitation only and is only offered to 50 students at each elementary school and 100 students at each middle or high school. The focus is math and literacy although science and social studies may be integrated into instruction.
