How does EWB ensure that donations are spent effectively?
EWB is an extremely efficient organisation because our operations leverage volunteers. Most donations to EWB go directly to operations – such as flights and modest living stipends. Our monthly living stipends – roughly $300-$400- are similar to the daily living allowance of some multilateral institution workers. Expenses in Canada are focused on providing project support to our overseas work. Our employees were paid between $26,000 and $34,000 in 2005, which represents a minimum living standard in Toronto.
