eScan includes a component called ‘MailScan-Lite’ to scan the e-mails. MailScan-Lite breaks the mails into 2 parts – the body and the attachment. After the disassembly, the body is checked for the restricted content and the attachments are scanned for viruses. After this is done, the e-mail is once again assembled and forwarded to the user’s Inbox.
