How does Enhanced Login Security work?
You will need to enroll each computer that you use for online banking. Once you have added the extra login security to your computer, you will see no difference to the login functionality. However, if you login from a different computer than the one you have enrolled, you will be presented with the challenge in order to login.
You will need to add extra security to each computer that you use for online banking. This can be done easily from the Enhanced Login Security page under the User Options. Whenever you login from a computer that you have added extra security to, you will automatically have additional protection, and notice no difference in the way you login. However if you login from a different computer than the one you have added, you will be asked for additional information in order to login.
First you will establish a challenge question. The challenge question will be used to verify your identity should you log on from an unrecognized computer. Then you will enroll the computer (or computers) that you routinely use in Enhanced Login Security. This process consists of downloading a secure cookie (a computer data file) on your computer. This secure cookie, when used in combination with your login information, creates a unique way for Enhanced Login Security to identify your computer. After you add extra security to a computer, every login attempt is validated using your User ID (i.e., member number), password, and the information contained in the secure cookie. The cookie is only used by the credit union to validate your identity and does not contain any personal information. If youre logging in from an unrecognized computer you will be prompted to answer your challenge question to gain access to your account.
