How does electrophoretic zeta potential works?
A DC field is applied to the solution which causes the charged particles to move. Using electrophoretic light scattering technique, the velocity of the particles is measured. The ratio of velocity to the DC field strength is called the electrophoretic mobility. Using the electrophoretic mobility in the appropriate formula determines the zeta potential.
