How does electronic tagging benefit the police?

0

If someone leaves their house during curfew hours with an electronic tag on it doesn’t track them down and tell the police/security company exactly where they are, its not a tracking device, it just alerts them that the person has broken their curfew, i would say the way it helps the police is that they can keep criminals in at certain times where maybe a particular person may of been committing crimes, ie a burglar would be kept in on a night time, the electronic tag is monitored by a security company and not the police so that would be one less thing they have to do, also when someone is put on curfew eg 7pm-7am the police have to come and knock at the persons house between those times throughout the night, when someone is put on tag that is another thing they have to do, so it keeps criminals off the streets at busy times for crime and it also means they don’t have to keep going to peoples houses and doing curfew checks Hope this helped =D
