How does EHC propose to reduce ethnic and racial health disparities?
Healthcare disparities occur when certain ethnic groups receive inadequate or poor healthcare, based on their race, ethnicity or social economic status. Studies have shown that even when members of minority groups have the same incomes, insurance coverage and medical conditions as whites, they receive poorer or inadequate care. By encouraging more people from diverse backgrounds to explore careers in health, we are creating a workforce that is sensitive to the cultural needs of a diverse and aging patient population.
