How does Duke Bikes work?
Duke Bikes works much like checking out a library book. All you need is your DukeCard. After you pick a bike at the Outpost under the West Campus Plaza, a staff member from the Office of Student Activities and Facilities will swipe your DukeCard, give you a bike lock and key and scan the bar code on the bike and accessories. Helmets are available and strongly encouraged, though not required under North Carolina law for people over 16. You will also need to sign a liability waiver to borrow a bike.
