On your PDA, the electronic prescribing tool features a Severe Drug Interaction Checker that you can turn on/off via the Preferences screen on the handheld. On the web, drug interaction checking is automatically performed between the pharmacy requested renewal and drugs in the patient’s prescription history. If a possible severe interaction is detected, it will be indicated in the messages section of the pharmacy renewal request. DDI is short for drug to drug interaction. Clicking on the Drug Interaction Checker (DDI Checker) on your My iScribe home page will open Caremark’s drug interaction tool that is available to all Caremark members.
