How does Doty Energy expect to make money?
Here’s our vision in a nutshell. The world’s appetite for transportation fuels will steadily grow at a rate greater than can be met by conventional fossil fuels and alternatives, so the price of oil will rise steadily until a competitive alternative becomes available. There is currently no competitive alternative. We will be able to make fuels from CO2 and H2O at a much lower price than any other sustainable alternative. These Windfuels will be carbon neutral, so the public will embrace them. We have a very strong patent and proprietary position, as well as an enormous head start. We will probably have no serious competition for at least a decade. We first need to build a small pilot plant. When it starts producing fuels (two years after funding) we will demonstrate production of more carbon-neutral fuels in a few weeks than the total cumulative global production of photosynthetic algal oil and direct solar fuels combined.
