How does discipline work in first grade?
The rules are posted and discussed. If you have to be reminded about a rule I will talk with you. If you forget a second time I will move a clothespin with your name to the yellow circle in the front of the room. Your family will get a note explaining what happened and you will miss 5 minutes of recess. If you forget again your pin will be moved to the red circle. Your name will be entered in the discipline notebook, your family will receive a note explaining what happened and you will miss a full recess. If your name is entered 5 times in the notebook you will receive a parent communication slip. We are all learning in first grade and many of us never land on red, just try your best!
