How does DEAMS relate to the U.S. Armys General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS)?
GFEBS is a web-based system being developed to allow the Army to share financial and accounting data across the Service. DEAMS and GFEBS are independent programs using different software packages (Oracle and SAP respectively) but the same company (Accenture) provides systems integration for both programs. GFEBS is a general fund system only while DEAMS will include both general and working capital funds. • How will DEAMS help the National Guard/Reserves? The National Guard and Reserves will receive the same benefits as the Air Force. DEAMS will provide more timely, accurate and reliable financial information about their activities and organizations. • What type of software does DEAMS use? COTS or custom developed? The DEAMS Program Management Office in June 2005 selected Oracle Federal Financials as the Commercial-Off-The-Shelf software.
