How does current non RO1 funding affect award decisions?

The Kimmel Awards are intended as bridge funding for those who have not yet secured an RO1. We fully expect that successful applicants may already have research funds in the range of $100-200k per year. Those with various grants totaling well over $250k per year may be deemed well-funded by the Board even if they do not yet hold an RO1. Occasionally exceptions may be considered for applicants who are well funded for non-cancer related research, but poorly funded for new endeavors related to cancer. Within budget justification, please be sure to include all grants currently awarded, yearly amount, date grant commenced and ended and percent effort. Also indicate pending funding and whether RO1 application has been filed.
