How does Covanta Energy’s proposal for an energy-from-waste plant at Rookery South affect the BEaR Project?

Covanta Energy has proposed a facility to treat Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire’s household waste at Rookery South in Bedfordshire. In order to deliver value for money, a competition must be run for the Bedfordshire and Luton waste contract. The Partnership cannot hand the waste treatment contract to one company without open competition and do not intend to narrow technologies to one type.
