How does course scheduling work for middle school students at 21CCCS?
Middle school students are scheduled according to the courses appropriate to their prior year’s courses and current grade level. The primary exception is that students are scheduled for the next most appropriate math course, regardless of grade level. All middle school core subject courses are year long courses, while Health & Physical Education and Art & Music are block scheduled (one per semester). If appropriate, middle school students may be permitted to take a Foreign Language course; this will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Guidance will review student’s prior grades and courses taken. Middle school students will have a choice between year long middle school level foreign language courses, or block scheduled high school foreign language courses.
