How does Continuous Tracking Mode affect my battery life?
Running Continuous Tracking Mode on your phone will not affect your batteries greatly for reporting time intervals of 3 minutes or more, thanks to a battery saving feature that intermittently suspends acquisition of GPS signals. However, for time intervals of less than 3 minutes, you phone will need to track GPS satellites continuously, which is battery intensive. In addition, if you enter an environment where your phone needs to re-acquire a GPS satellite lock repeatedly (for example in office buildings), your battery will be affected even more.
