How Does CIRC Correct Bad Credit?
You must complete a Confidential Client Profile that tells CIRC which credit items are inaccurate, outdated, misleading or unverifiable and should be challenged. Once CIRC receives your credit reports, disputes in your name are constructed. These disputes are designed to force the credit reporting companies to conduct an investigation. According to federal law, the credit reporting companies can ignore your dispute under a variety of conditions. In our experience, a large part of disputes sent directly from consumers are rejected under one pretext or another. At the conclusion of the credit reporting companys investigation, a new copy of the credit report is sent to your home along with any deletions or improvements. You then copy and send to CIRC the new credit report so the dispute process can continue.
