How does Cinnamon help regulate blood sugar?
Scientists have done lots of studies to try to understand why Cinnamon works to regulate blood sugar and increase insulin sensitivity. It is thought that the active ingredient in cinnamon is a water-soluble polyphenol compound called MHCP. In test tube experiments, MHCP mimics insulin, activates its receptor, and works synergistically with insulin in cells. Another reason maybe that the cinnamon has tons of fiber.
