How does CineForm compression differ from other compression formats?
Comparatively, and with almost no exception, camera formats are intended for acquiring images to tape or digital media; they are not intended for post-production, nor do they maintain high-quality images through post-production. In general camera formats have several characteristics: 1) they are very highly compressed to deliver small file sizes for recording, and 2) they often rely on complex (CPU intensive) algorithms not conducive to high-performance editing workflows.
