How does CHIPP differ from its predecessor program, the Health Infostructure Support Program (HISP)?

The objective of HISP was to support trial, demonstration and pilot projects. CHIPP is a continuation of HISP, but with greater emphasis on large implementation models and cross-jurisdictional collaboration. In addition, CHIPP will focus on supporting projects in two strategic areas in ICT-enabled innovations in health care delivery, namely telehealth (telemedicine and telehomecare) and electronic health records (EHRs).
