How does Child Care Licensing regulate homes and centers?
All regulated child-care operators must meet minimum standards for a child’s health and safety. The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services’ (DFPS) Child Care Licensing (CCL) inspects all licensed centers and homes and all registered homes to check for compliance with the minimum standards appropriate for the type of care. These standards have basic requirements for a safe environment and for caregivers to have minimal training and professional development every year.
