How does Cheshire East Council decide its highway maintenance priorities?
For safety reasons, the filling of potholes and other forms of reactive maintenance are carried out as a result of routine inspections or defect reports received. Larger-scale reconstruction, resurfacing or paving slab re-lays are prioritised as a result of structural and condition surveys, and included in ongoing, mid- or long-term maintenance programmes.
