How does Catholicism differ from Christianity?

0

Catholicism is one ‘branch’ or denomination of Christianity. Protestant denominations developed from Catholicism when Martin Luther realized that the Catholic church of the middle ages was teaching false doctrine (Biblically unscriptural) to gain money and power. Luther saw in Romans that salvation from sin is by faith, not by works as the Catholic church was teaching at the time. Many people confuse the term ‘Christian’ with ‘protestant’. Protestants are many denominations of Christianity that agree in a salvation by faith in Jesus, not by works that man can do. There are other doctrinal differences between protestants and catholics, but you’ll never get a catholic to argue them because they don’t read their Bibles. This is a major difference between the two groups. Maybe I’ll hub the doctrinal differences one of these days.
