How does catalase enzyme breakdown hydrogen peroxide?

0

Catalase is a ring-structure enzyme (a porphyrin) which contains iron. During the catalytic process the iron temporarily binds to the Hydrogen Peroxide via one of the Oxygen atoms in the H2O2. The Catalase then splits the Oxygen away leaving Water and releasing the Oxygen.
