How does card making and painting/drawing promote positive social and emotional development?

Card making can promote positive social development by in a group the child will be able to share the equipment, take turns, ask another child for something they may want eg a piece of card, scissors. They can talk about what they are doing and why and how. This conversation will maybe then lead on for them to talk about other subjects. Good manners will be encouraged more as well. For emotional development the child can talk about what they are making and who the card is for. They may tell you they are making a birthday card ect so that would be for them talking about being happy, on the other hand they may be making a get well card and therefore may feel sad. From the card they are making and the colours they are choosing you can talk about their emotions and how they are feeling and why.
