BusySync uses a Publish and Subscribe model similar to the WebDAV Publish and Subscribe built-in to iCal. The main difference is that BusySync subscribers have read-write access to calendars they are subscribed to, whereas WebDAV subscribers have read-only access. In addition, BusySync subscriptions sync to the iPhone, but WebDAV subscriptions do not sync to the iPhone.
