How does Bupropion (Wellbutrin SR, Zyban) work?
Generic Wellbutrin’s work is related to two brain chemicals named norepinephrine and dopamine; it exerts its effect on the levels of these chemicals. FDA first gave approval for Bupropion as a drug to treat depression, but when it also showed positive effects on smokers, a second approval was given as a smoking-cessation treatment.
