How does bulk density of coal increases by adding oil in coke ovens?
Apparently, it has something to do with controlling the bulk density of coal charged into ovens to enhance production of metallurgical coke used in the iron blast furnace. The addition of oil helps to overcome moisture variations during the production process leading to a more uniform fluidization and flow rate which leads to a more uniform quality of the coke.
