How does bST affect synchronized breeding programs?
A University of Florida study found an increased return on investment for bST and synchronized breeding when both were used together. Researchers compared reproduction results of cows on Ovsynch and Presynch programs, both with and without bST. The first LH surge injection was given the same day as the first bST injection (day 63). In cycling cows, first-service pregnancy rates increased when bST was used.
