How does Brookside Crematory identify each cremation?
A. While Brookside Crematory does not independently identify the deceased, we personally receive each cremation from the funeral home director along with the completed authorization, and accompanying state of CT cremation and transport permits. As the cremation is being received, Brookside will issue a cremation number that is recorded on the authorization as well as a corresponding embossed metal disc that will remain with the cremation along with all corresponding documents. Following processing the disc is attached to a plastic bag containing the cremains inside of the selected urn or temporary container, and returned to the funeral home, according to instruction, along with a Brookside cremation certificate and funeral home and family copies of the crematory’s completed cremation authorization. Brookside welcomes authorized family members that wish to accompany their loved one to the crematory, be present for the commencement of the cremation, or to attend an officiated committal s
