Users have a settable time during which logons can be attempted. If a user fails to log in successfully within a given number of tries, the application ends and the user is locked-out. If the user logs on successfully and then attempts to gain access to a restricted area, a message is sent to the System Journal file noting information about the user, date and time of attempted access, and the area into which they attempted to gain access. The user is then forced out, and his password disabled, requiring a supervisory override. Our password file contains access rights to over 100 areas of BrokerTrak. Once access has been aquired to a table rights further control: display only, print, and update functionality. Ad hoc access to data tables is protected by means of network rights.
