How does Boxelder bill for wastewater discharges?
Boxelder obtains potable water consumption readings from its customer’s potable water provider. Sewer service bills are prepared on the first business day of each month for service through the end of the previous month. When water meter readings apply, the water consumption total from the water meter reading taken during the previous month is used to calculate the sewer service charges for the current billing. An example: For the service period December 1 through December 31, Boxelder uses the water consumption total from water meter readings ending in mid-December (for most customers between the 10th and the 15th of the month). Residential users are billed for actual consumption for the three-month period of December, January and February. The average water consumption during these three months is called the Average Winter Consumption (AWC). This AWC is the basis for the Summer Schedule rate charge that is implemented each year for the nine-month period of March through November. The
