How does box mounting differ from picture framing?

0

Framed photos and posters are usually matted and placed behind glass. Box mounts do not use mats. The artwork is glued down onto 1/8″ hardboard which does not warp. Box mounts create a three-dimensional effect because the photo/poster projects from the wall.
