How does BOLO handle retroactive ownership changes?
BOLO maintains ownership decks as owner-level effective dated division of interest decks. Most systems handle ownership changes by making a ‘copy’ of the entire existing deck. The appropriate change to the ownership is made to the new deck. Multiple decks remain in the system. BOLO typically has one deck per property, maintaining all ownership changes within that base deck. Owners are changed inactivated with an expiration date rather than removed entirely from the division of interest.
