How does Blackboard help me comply with copyright restrictions?
Blackboard has several tools that can help you comply with copyright. We encourage faculty to use our Library’s E-Reserve system for copyrighted articles, video, and audio files. We then automatically put a link to the course’s E-Reserves in the menu for each course. When students access the E-Reserves, they are first presented with a copyright notice. After the semester, access is disabled. Princeton Blackboard course sites are built with one content area (Syllabus) that is public and two (Course Materials and Assignments) that are private. The instructor (but not the students) sees either of the following messages when uploading content to these areas: PUBLIC AREA of Course Site Item is not available.
