How does BikeRegistry work, how is it different than my city bike registration program?
– The BikeRegistry strategy is based upon a robust peer based architecture, your bike’s serial number applied by the manufacturer, your creation of an account with detailed bike information and the application of a Decal Kit as a means of identifying your bike as being registered at BikeRegistry.com. Plus the understanding that cyclists are reasonably honest folks. Members create and maintain their own information, if something happens to your bike you can instantly post it to the Hot Sheet, you control how much and what contact information is made available to the public. When your bike is returned, you remove it from the Hot Sheet listing. – BikeRegistry can work in parallel with your city’s or university’s bike registration program. If your bike is found locally, the city/university registration may help; if found across the country or overseas BikeRegistry will most likely provide the most assistance.
