While the Supercard (and most slot 1 flashcarts) uses significantly more power than a real DS cart, the CycloDS Evolution card is comparable. So, using the CycloDS Evolution is similar in battery use to a real DS cart. Independant tests show you will get about 91% of your normal battery life using the CycloDS Evolution vice a real DS card. If you change games a lot, you will use less power by using the CycloDS Evolution’s in game reset instead of cycling power every time. Don’t forget – you can change your brightness settings from the game menu or during game play, so be sure to dim the display when you don’t need it as bright – you will save a lot of power that way. It does appear that in SLEEP mode, the CycloDS Evolution card uses more battery power than a real cartridge. I recommend you use the Real Time Save feature of the CycloDS to eliminate using sleep mode at all.
