How does Bactroban work?
Bactroban ointment kills bacteria on the skin by restricting it from manufacturing the proteins necessary for its growth. It works within the cell walls of the bacteria to destroy its genetic material, an effect which leads to elimination of the bacteria and treatment of the skin infection. Side Effects of Bactroban Bactroban side effects are expressed in a variety of symptoms including mouth dryness, taste changes, headache, stuffed nose, skin rash, cough, and nausea. Most of these are mild and manageable. On the more severe side are effects such as severe burning in nose and eyes, Bactroban side effects that require quick medical aid. These might be the result of an overdose or an allergic incompatibility to the drug. The ointment is generally meant to be used in adult patients, though doctors might prescribe lower dosages for children if required.
