How does Axion measure the exhaust flow rate?
For measurement of exhaust flow rate, Axion utilizes all necessary information from the electronic computer Interface (ECI), or a sensor array on non-ECI vehicles. Data such as instantaneous engine speed, intake air temperature, and intake air pressure are utilized in a patented system. i. ECI method – Electronic module details (for active and passive sensors) for interfacing sensors with system. We network with the diagnostic ports on the vehicles, and then output real time from the scanners to the instrument. OBDII and J1939 protocols are supported, using separate ECI modules. ii. Sensor Array method – Any one of three-RPM sensors is/are used, depending on the engine. A piezoelectric clamp sensor is clamped to a fuel injection line on diesel engines (not common rail). An optical tachometer is magnetically mounted and aimed at the crankshaft pulley. Conversely, an inductive clamp is clamped to a spark plug wire. The pressure sensor is attached in line with the intake air manifold usin
