How does Australia assist developing countries with overseas aid?
The Australian Government AusAID website contains a full list of the countries to which Australia provides aid. The site also provides information on Australia’s bilateral and regional programs in those countries with which Australia has a development partnership. Information on partnerships with a wide range of groups such as regional governments, non-government organisations (NGOs), and Australian volunteer organisations is also available. Statistical data on overseas aid can also be found. The Office of Development Effectiveness (ODE) was established by the Australian Government in 2006 to monitor the quality and evaluate the impact of the Australian aid program. Australian aid, promoting growth and stability : a white paper on the Australian Governments overseas aid program outlines many issues, including the advantages of providing aid to overseas countries.
