How does ASUS plan to refurbish its distribution network?
ASUS currently has five main distributors, viz., Rashi Peripherals, Neoteric Informatique, Zeta Technologies, Aditya Infotech and eSYS Distribution. There were some problems vis–vis under cutting in costs, though they have now been taken care of. By end of Q3 this year, we plan to have 3 SIs in each Class A city and at least 2 SIs in each Class B city. Overall, our goal is to have 200 SIs across the country by end of this fiscal. We would be having at least 15-20 master resellers and 5-7 associate resellers under these 5 distributors by the end of 2004. However, ASUS would have separate channel partners for specific products-like motherboards, ODD and VGA would come under consumer channel, while some distributor like Rashi Peripherals cater exclusively to the enterprise channel.
