How Does Askville Feel About Term Limits For Senators?

0

There should be term limits for members of the Senate and the House of Representatives. I would think a 2-term limit, 12 years, should be good enough for members of the Senate. As for the House of Representatives I think first their terms should be increased from 2 years to 4 years, as it always seems like they are campaign trail and then they should be limited to 3 terms for a total of 12 years. It would also be a good idea to have rules that once you have served your 12 years then you would have to wait 12 years before trying to be elected again. I also think the term for the presidency should be changed to a 6-year term with a limit of 1 term. Doing this would allow the person elected to focus only on the job and not trying to be reelected.
