Every ASEPCO valve is machined to either 20 microinch (0.508 micron) Ra or better. For valves 10 microinch (0.254 micron) Ra or better the ID is hand polished on a lathe. After welding fittings onto valve bodies the ID of the weld is ground to match the requested finish.
