How does Aquatic YogaDancing differ from watsu?
Aquatic YogaDancing differs from watsu, water shiatsu, in several ways. First, with watsu, the person is passive and ‘treated” by the bodyworker, whereas in Aquatic YogaDancing, both the facilitator and their partner actively participate in the dynamic stretching process. Second, watsu is preferably done in very warm water (95 degrees F), to relax the muscles, whereas with Aquatic YogaDancing a warm water (88 degrees F) in preferred but not necessary.
