How does application software fit into the information processing cycle?
It is recommended that students recognize how application software applies to the processing segment of the information processing cycle. As detailed in Learning Objective 1.1, information processing follows a cycle that may include one or more of the following stages: input, process, output, storage, replication, and distribution. (See Appendix A for a sample cycle.) Students will need to understand how software enhances productivity in the input, processing, and output of information. The concept and use of multi-media may be introduced as tools to assist in processing information. However, the focus of time in this module will be on the features and use of communications, database management, spreadsheet, and graphics software applications. 5.2 Learning Objectives Instructional Notes Approaches/Assessment Resources/Teacher Notes What are electronic data communications systems?
