How does Anime make it the screening room at CONvergence?
Our program schedule is set months in advance of the convention. Every program we show has to have screening rights from the distributor. This takes considerable time considering the number of distributors we have to deal with. Program suggestions come from the department head and sub-heads as well as suggestions we receive throughout the year from con-goers. We normally start with a wide list and gradually slim it down based on allotted time, what kind of mix we’re looking for, and what else might be going on during the convention at the time. A great deal of time is spent trying to ensure a good mix of programs.
