How does an officer become assigned to the CSI team?
Well actually, we’re not officers. We’re civilians. It used to be officers, but changed the end of 2001. We usually like a person to have three years’ experience in some type of law enforcement, or something like a degree in forensic science. How many are on CSI duty in San Angelo? There are four of us here on the team, and we work in shifts. Three work a day shift, and one works an evening shift. They’re on call all night until 7 a.m., when the day shift comes on. What equipment and technology do you use to do your job? First and foremost, we use a digital camera. Depending on the case, we could use a video camera – homicides, questionable death, something that could turn into a homicide. We video the scene.
