How does an MRT become eligible for a state stipend?
A teacher must: (a.) attain MRT certification and provide the district a copy of the SBEC certificate; (b.) teach reading, at the grade level for which he/she holds MRT certification, on an identified high-need campus; (c.) be designated by a district to fill a MRT stipend slot on an identified high-need campus; and (d.) mentor fellow teachers on that campus.
