The provisions of the Education Law require that the LCSW applicant must demonstrate: • 12 semester hours of clinical social work (content acceptable to SED). • 3 years post-MSW supervised experience in diagnosis, psycho-therapy & assessment-based treatment planning. • Experience is defined as: 3 years full-time (20 client hours/week) or PT equivalent (10 client hours/week) w/in no more than 6 years; under acceptable supervision defined in regulation. • Supervision must be with a LCSW, licensed psychologist, or physician (psychiatrist) in a legal setting such as an OMH licensed clinic, Partial Hospitalization program or with a private practice/group.
