How does an FSBO transaction differ from one with a real estate agent?

Without an agent, the sellers and/or buyers have to handle the negotiation of the contract. In addition, the buyer or seller would need to provide a contract for sale. (In a sale involving a real estate agent, the agent will normally provide the form contract). Usually, the sellers’ attorney will hold earnest money, as opposed to the Seller’s broker in the case with an agent.
